Heading to Ashville NC next week, doing the expected Biltmore, Grandfather
Mtn. and hitting a cidery, what other things are worth doing over a 3 day stay. Also any restaurant recommends? My first trip to Ashville.

Khao Thai Cuisine for food, Tiki Easy for drinks.
The Chemist is also a great place for drinks. I had lunch at Daddy Mac's last trip. It's worth skipping. Asheville Tourists games are fun too. ** Edited by Victor Tango at 7/8/2026, 4:09:02 PM

Lazy trip down the French Broad (river). New Belgium right on it.
French Broad brewery is small and out of the way but liked their selections. ** Edited by Victory Ticker at 7/8/2026, 9:09:02 AM

Love Weaverville. Was just there 2 months ago. I would also add a out of
the way brewery there. Zebulon Ales. I’ve seen them listed as a Top 10 unique breweries in US. He currently has an ale recreating the ale that Ernest Shackleton had on his final voyage. Wild stuff. I’d also suggest Edna’s Hideaway. Another top notch distillery that uses foraged Appalachian ingredients. Some really great stuff. And I would strongly agree on Well Bred Bakery . Voted best small town bakery in US. So good. They also have a spot in Biltmore Village if you’d rather not drive up to Weaverville. But so good.

Went to Biltmore in June1994. Humidity was so oppressive I took my 2 yo son
...outside after 20 minutes. Cost me $22 to view the grand hall. We watched the OJ white Bronco chase from the motel room.

That happened on Friday, June 17th, 1994. We got married the next day in DC
and it was scorching. That damn video has been following us around ever since, lol!

Biltmore's well worth the trip. Usually crowded but not too dorky. Unlikely
you'll get shot there.

Head downtown and enjoy the smell of weed and homeless encampments.
