My cousin had a house fire around lunch time today at their house in Midlo.
About 5 minutes from me. Thankfully no one was hurt. Here are the pics. Now if I could figure out how to post the videos from the firemen ...

houses away though). I heard all got out safe. Neighborhood people are trying to organize something to help them out. Very sad.

started barking and woke him up. Phil was able to get the dog out of his cage and leave the house safely with not much time to spare.
The fire fighters think the fire came from the back deck, or possibly the kitchen on the back side of the house. Although they are not sure what started the fire. On the back deck they had a grill, a hot tub and a fire pit.
Stacy has a daughter that lives close by with two very young grand daughters. Stacy, Phil and Susan spend time assisting Stacy's daughter (Sydney) with the two girls. One of which has a severe form of autism. Sydney is divorced from the girl's father and he lives out of state.
Stacy and Phil are staying with friends. Stacy's mother, Susan, is staying with her sister (my mother) less than a mile away from the Grove. Insurance has been contacted. I'm not sure if it was the insurance provider or the Red Cross that gave them about five hundred dollars to help. Stacy and Phil used it to get a little clothing, food and personal stuff this afternoon.
I think everything will be fine in the end. Susan is a very emotional person and holds onto things. Much like a hoarder mentality. So she is very much in the dumps thinking about old sentimental things she lost, etc. She has always been this way. Stacy and Phil are doing better mentally. Although it is a tough situation and will take much to get back up and running.
Here is a link to the WRIC new article with some other pictures. The videos the firemen took of the blaze were the best indication of the fire. Unfortunately I can't post them.

of those "it will never happen here" deals - the house looks like it was in great shape.

From my understanding, they think it started at the back of the house either on the deck or possibly in the kitchen. Phil was sleeping and the two ladies were at work when it happened.

Was this in Hampton Park, by chance? I have an app on my phone that sends me alerts about local police/fire dept. activity, and I saw an incident posted about a potential house fire around noon today in the Hampton Park neighborhood.
