OOOOOKAY! I thought the game was in Miami for a sec. Did anyone out there
understand any of that? Brilliant marketing.
And I loved the 2 guys grinding by the truck. Just an excellent, inclusive, show for the whole family.

Bad Bunny is the most streamed artist in the world in 2024-26. NFL wants to have next franchise in Mexico City. Goodall and the billionaires owners love capitalism!

I enjoyed the heck out of the show, and I didn’t understand many words. But joy, love, and happiness transcend language. I loved the little details in the show: the wedding celebration, the little boy in the barber shop, the proposal, the lady in the shop giving BB a treat from her shop, the parade of flags, and more. It was a unique and festive show that introduced Americans to their often misunderstood fellow Americans. We need more understanding these days.
So, this 66 year-old man was entertained.

The show as like some sort of sweepstakes to be in a Bad Bunny production. And that their family was background dancers (or dominos players) during the show.

The info I read said that they invited Bad Bunny to their wedding, and his response was to invite their wedding to be in his halftime show.
I just googled it and yup, that's what happened.

I laughed thinking about how they'd tell their family they were in the show.

Dude put on a full show. I'm a 50+ dude who doesn't expect to be the target audience and that's ok, but I was entertained.

Spanish? Do you have minor children, and did you watch that with them? Do you celebrate crotch grabbing and male on male grinding, and twerking? I'm OK if you love that stuff (minus the kids seeing it) but there was a time when most of what I saw was against FCC regulations before 10 PM. And I support that.
(In response to this post by HOaKIE)

Which is just to say that, as you know, there's nothing new under the sun. As always, the kids are alright.

You ok with JLo and Shakira at halftimes? They showed WAY more skin, WAY more gyrations.
Spare me the sexuality ****. You didn't like it because it was in Spanish and not targeted at you.

And some of a different generation have different mores and perspectives on what should or shouldn't be on TV. I can certainly see for some that the sexuality could have been a larger issue. Let's keep in mind that in order to see it, he actually had to WATCH it -- so, in other words, he wasn't blindly complaining about it for political reasons and then watching some other show that was even more blatantly political.
He watched it and it wasn't his thing. So be it.
I mean, come on now. The man lives down in the Keys. It's damn near impossible to live in the Keys and not be open-minded.

of derogatory/condescending emphasis? What does what I have watched in the past have to do with anything? Why don't you hop in here and describe how you liked all of the explicit sexuality for all ages to observe in what is a family event?
And then end your comment it with a lol, of course, because it makes the insipid even more so.

Minus the speaking in Spanish part. From what little I know of you on this board, I don’t believe that enters into your consideration. But it does for many many others in the general public I think. And I think that’s why there’s a lot more fuss about this halftime show as opposed to all the others over the past decade plus.
I’m a 52-year-old white man. I am not their target market for this halftime show. I did not particularly enjoy it. I understand your concerns about some of the elements, but I think way too many people are *****ing and moaning for different reasons. And I think others are defending it more than they might because it’s been turned into something political.

I think this stuff is wrong (the overtly sexual stuff). Totally wrong. Can't the majority agree on that? Millions of minors of all ages watched that crap. If some kid hops off the school bus tomorrow doing a crotch grab dance, that will be perfectly acceptable.
Having the show in Spanish makes absolutely no sense to me, but that is OK. Maybe it should have had a far east element in SF, ha. I guess the NFL isn't trying to move into China yet.

How long ago was the “wardrobe malfunction” after all?
Like I said, I get and respect your objection to it on those reasons. I just think you’re fairly unique in that that’s why you object. I think probably 90 to 95% of people objecting and complaining about this halftime show are for wildly different reasons than you.
Do you think that this show is anything different from what kids and teens can see on many many other shows at an even earlier hour? I mean, Michael Jackson made crotch grabbing an art. It’s nothing new.

complaining about is no longer an issue. That battle was lost before anyone knew what was happening. I think kids should be allowed to be kids as long as possible.

From the WaPo writeup of the halftime show:
This remained a PG-rated affair with about as much dirtiness to the dancing as there was in the 1987 “Dirty Dancing.” The backup dancers were wild and exuberant but well short of lurid. Same for Bad Bunny, who offered some trademark grabs of his crotch while singing about an anaconda and a few inspired pelvic gyrations. Nothing compared with the flipping and flopping you can see from his live shows on TikTok. And yes, the camera caught two men grinding from the waist up at one point, but Bad Bunny didn’t indulge his own penchant for gender play. You can’t get much more traditionally masculine than a football jersey and a men’s suit, can you?
Me again. So this apparently was TAME for Bad Bunny.

I'm sure it is tame for most adults at this stage of the game. But there is a time and a place - and audience! - for everything. SuperBowl halftime is not the place, because of the audience.
(In response to this post by Nova Hokie 95)

Again, I get and respect that your objection is about the material and its presentation. But the large majority of people who had a problem with this show are speaking out at the behest of someone whose words and sometimes even deeds are arguably much more vile and disgusting than anything that was seen on the screen tonight.

My five young grandchildren were “staying up” to watch The Super Bowl. They probably lasted until 7-7:30. That Scream7 ad would have terrified them. So I alerted my son about it and he was able to skip the ad since they were watching on delay.

Because otherwise, pointing out another artist with inappropriate lyrics seems to support the claim I made. Our society has been on a slow and steady moral decline for decades, and we've reached the point that nearly anything and everything is not only accepted, but downright celebrated by mainstream media.
For the record, I had no idea Kid Rock performed during TPUSA's alternate halftime show. I didn't watch it, either. I had to look up what you were referring to.
