The trail is called PG's and several riders have gone off that drop this
year. That is the gnarliest drop in the OC. If you are ever at top of the world you can access this trail and just walking to that rock and then looking down is daunting. I like the other side of the canyon. Steep and techy but nothing like that trail

might be the only time I've ridden mentally sensitive. Rarely on that side
side of the park unless it's going down mickey's tee box

Serious mountain biking is not for people without insurance…..
My son was on a mountain bike team in middle school and 9th grade….Lots of scrapes and pulls but nothing major thankfully. His bikes were a different story. Broken carbon handlebars, broken carbon wheels, broken chains, broken brakes etc. His handlebars now decorate his wall.

I had to sleep in a recliner for ~6 months after a MTB crash
I had my shoulder X-rayed, and thankfully I didn't have any fractures, but I definitely stretched some ligaments. When I rolled over in bed to that side, it felt like a knife was being jabbed into my shoulder. I started sleeping in my recliner to keep from rolling in my sleep. It took waaaaaay too long to sleep in a bed again.

I actually thought I was in decent shape when I moved to San Diego...
But it turned out that I actually encountered people who were in great shape out there...lol As for that video...I like to think that I was never dumb enough to go down a steep downhill trail like that.

Mountain biking is huge here….
People tend to think of LB as beaches and ocean but it has some of the best mountain biking in the country. But….Yeah….You have to be in shape. I took my aluminum hard tail out on the trails…. Kicked my butt. My son on the hand….Shreds.

I bought my first mountain bike when I arrived there.
I had (still have) a road bike, but wanted to ride all of the phenomenal MB trails so I bought a Specialized MTB. I've never been anywhere before or since that had so many great MB trails. It really is MB heaven.

You’ll appreciate this pic I just took in my garage…..
Disregard the clutter. 2 road bikes. 2 mountain bikes and a Tri bike

Very nice!
I have two road bikes (one fairly new, and an old one) and one "long in the tooth" MTB. As far as I know, there is only one MTB trail in Virginia Beach, and it's not very challenging. I've been on the fence about buying another. If I was still in San Diego, would have bought a new MTB years ago...lol
