Heading to Key West for a week, what are the must do's?

down the other. I like to go midday, not at night, and take in the sights. I also generally pick up a giant can of Bud at a corner convenience store and brown bag it. It's illegal to drink in public, but that's part of the allure. It's about 2 miles round trip. I also like to stroll around the seaport, and always stop in the Half Shell Raw Bar. Renting bikes and slowly rolling around looking at the incredibly restored/maintained houses is also fun.

I would look at the condition of the planes before climbing in one. Lots of rust in a salt environment.

I guess airplanes go there, but with multiple ways to get there by sea, why would that be your first thought?
I know an addition to many smaller private boats that will get you there, there is at least one big outfit that provide a high speed ferry...

...limited. How long does it take the ferry to get there, 4 hours? That's a lot of commuting time for one day.

It can be pretty rough out there. I don't know of too many boats that are going to go 35 mph in what could be 4' seas.
A 35+ foot high quality center console maybe, but you won't enjoy the beating. I guess it all depends on how the water is, but it isn't likely to be glass.

Looe Key, Big Pine, etc. Check out the Blue Hole, have lunch at the No Name Pub. See some tiny deer.
