Just learned a new* way to describe old things, like 'windows' & 'doors'.
A guy who was sales manager here in our new community has a new job with a building products company. He's a territory sales manager for their 'Aperture Division'. Yes, that's right. *new to me, may not be new to you and I hope you can keep that to yourself because nobody wants to hear about how much more up-to-date you are than me.

Given your photo background, this I'm sure made sense instantly.
but it still a term I hadn't heard before for windows or doors.

I must be really old, I thought the word was fenestration

In this case, penetration might be more applicable

That only covers windows. Doors may HAVE fenestration, but they're not
actually of the fenestration persuasion.
