If you don't ask the answer is always no.

I know that for public image that

Franklin reports to Whit. But in reality is Franklin his own boss:

Besides your question (a good one ) how is JMU able to

sucessfully hire football coaches that win. Whereas we cannot. (we shall see about Franklin. I think he will be fine) ** Edited by HokieNLot11 at 11/28/2025, 12:36:50 PM

Like your post. I will add that everyting that is attempted is a gamble.

Some more of a gamble. With Franklin we know he won at Penn State and Vanderbilt so the gamble like you say can he do it at VT. At least he is a coach that has a proven record at a Power 5 level. So, for me time will tell..... Go Hokies and BTW beat Uva

Question for those who may know. Where did Ballein get his power in the AD?

Was it given to him or did he earn it? What if anyting did he do that actually have a positive impact on athletics? Lastly, how did he keep his job? ** Edited by HokieNLot11 at 10/30/2025, 3:26:56 PM

Not going after you but I was wondering what characteristics are we

looking for in a new coach? I'm assuming the search committe has a list. But what makes a candidate a non starter?

Over the past few years I have not been supportive of Shane

being the HC at VT. I thought that Shane would be continually be compared to his Dad. And at times I did'nt care for his personality. Now, if it happens so be it. He's not coming anyway. Why we he leave the SEC for the ACC?

First I stopped going to away bowl games, second a few years later

I stopped buying season tickets, third I stopped watching on TV after the Wake game. I hope our current coach does not consider coaching at VT. He deserves better. I never thought it would get this bad. And of course the only thing we as fans count on is beating Uva. And LOL that will not happen. ** Edited by HokieNLot11 at 10/11/2025, 9:16:47 PM

Stiney was so good his coaching resume proves it. Where to next?

Throughout his tenure in Blacksburg, Stinespring held a number of other positions including offensive line coach (1993–2005), recruiting coordinator (1994–2001), assistant head coach (2001) and offensive coordinator (2002–2012).[3] Following Beamer's retirement at the end of the 2015 season, Stinespring joined the staff at his alma mater James Madison where he served as offensive line coach and run-game coordinator.[4] At the end of the 2022 season, Stinespring was named associate head coach and offensive assistant at VMI.[5] Head coaching record Year Team Overall Conference Standing Bowl/playoffs Roanoke Maroons (Old Dominion Athletic Conference) (2025–present) 2025 Roanoke 3–1 1–1 Roanoke: 3–1 1–1 Total: 3–1 Criticism Stinespring had faced criticism from the fans[6] and a player[7] for offensive output during his time as offensive coordinator, which compared poorly with that of his predecessors under Frank Beamer.[6] In 2008, sports columnist Norm Wood has commented that Stinespring's offensive production in recent years has been "abysmal", and that he heard fans chanting "Fire Stinespring" before one home game.[8] While Stinespring faced criticism for offensive production, he has also been praised for his abilities as a recruiter.[7][8] Players have also expressed their appreciation for
