Everyone near Salem be careful this afternoon. 81 Southbound is backed.....
Up 11 miles due to an earlier crash. We play Christiansburg at home tonight, wonder what time those poor kids will have to leave to make it on time?

7500 gal of diesel spilled.
What an absolute nightmare for everyone trying to come to Tech for the weekend.

Nope, the tank held 7500 but the leak came from the truck tanks,100 or less

When is that part of 81 not backed up in one direction or the other?
Horrible stretch of road.

It's 10x worse with the widening construction
with barriers on both sides so no one can pull over if there is an incident.

You misspelled "the interstate"!

95 has its issues too.
It has so many vehicles on it every day, any accident will back up traffic for miles.

It's a crash magnet

Except it doesn't even take a crash. If a cop pulls someone over
that will back up the interstate for miles. I'm not talking about any lanes being blocked either. I'm just talking about the perception that the "move over, or slow down" law is interpreted by way too many people as "move over, or else." The effect is any flashing lights on the shoulder effectively turns I81 into a one lane road.

That's just "rubber-neckers." They've been around forever.
Wagon trains headed west probably had them.
