Answer: No. And good for them. They know their school's mission which is education, not trotting out semi pro 18 year olds onto the playing field. Obviously, I'm with them and hope that VT finds a sports environment and level of competition where it can be successful and free from the need to pay for play. SEC needs a 3/4 vote. at 14 schools, that meant 11 votes which would mean that Vanderbilt, Kentucky, and one of Arkansas, Mississippi State, or Missouri could effectively block things. At 16 schools, all that is needed is 12 schools. Clearly Texas and Oklahoma would side with the majority. Their additions make it much, much easier for the SEC to create bylaws that would allow them to expel deadweight without legal ramifications. I suspect that Vanderbilt, Kentucky, et al are seeing the proverbial shot across the bow to invest heavily in their football programs.
