Anyone have any long term stocks they are buying now?

A lot of people are buying I Bonds right now, which might be a pretty good
deal. You buy them from the government and their interest rate is pegged to inflation. They're set to earn a 9.6% annualized rate through October, at which point they'll set a new rate based on whatever inflation is then. You have to hold them for a year before you can sell them and if you sell them before 5 years, you forfeit the last 3 months of interest. But that's still a good deal for a risk free asset at the moment. Say they set the new rate as 5% in October. You'd get 9.6% for 6 months and 5% for six months, for an average of about 7.3%. Deduct 3 months of interest and you're at just under 5.5% for a risk free asset. You can buy a max of $10,000 per person per year, so if you're married, y'all could by $20,000.
It may not be what you're looking for, but I thought I'd mention it because a lot of people are interested in it right now.

VT (Vanguard Total World Stock Index Fund ETF) and chill
Whether laymen like us pick a winning stock is pure luck, IMO. VTI if you only want American stocks. Maybe an industry specific fund if you think a particular industry has potential that's not already priced into the market for some reason.

dust settles with earnings this afternoon, Netflix turmoil, and their political nonsense in FL. If they lose their preferred tax status and self-governance it could be a problem for them.
