If you have gains you can offset then maybe you sell some losers for the
tax benefits. I still think you can sell stocks now AND buy them even cheaper later - we are not yet done with the pain. If it were me, I don't have any gains I can offset in the short term so I would likely use the money in checkings/savings/money markets but your situation may be different.
