Those of you who have Gen Z kids or have hired them - have you noticed a difference in how they apply for jobs and interact with potential employers? I have a 17 year old who finds it a completely alien concept that a person would physically walk into a place of business and ask to speak to someone face to face about a job. He's convinced that everyone these days just emails or texts resumes and follow-ups and does not seem to accept my assertion that in-person or at least phone contact can set him apart and give him a leg up (especially for minimum wage-type jobs). But maybe I'm just behind the times. What sayeth the Lounge?
