I am well aware of how Cignetti has changed his approach. He still isn't going for top ranked guys across the board, even though he easily could. Their class will probably finish somewhere in the 20s, I'd bet they finish ranked lower than us in recruiting. With that said he'll likely be right there in the playoffs competing, with a recruiting class that cost significantly less than schools like Miami, LSU, or the Texas schools. I'd be irate if I were a blue blood fan. Cignetti is the new Saban, I don't think he will build a dynasty, but his mere existence gets other coaches fired.

public has no idea what college athletes & teams cumulatively are being paid right now. We can’t be sure if those dollars are going up/down or how long they’ll continue. Whatever it is you can be sure they’ll keep asking for more money & you’re just supposed to trust them.

Miami has 6 top 5 players in their position group 5 - five stars composite
As long as the billionaires fund UM (one from prison) they will out talent all but a handful of P-4 year after year.
Their administration and head coach nailed the play for pay transition.

That city was literally built on cocaine revenue. I remember going to
South Beach in 1979 and staying in an art deco, oceanfront hotel, for $12 a night. That was right before the cocaine explosion that fueled everything in the economy. EVERY business benefitted - banking, real estate, auto sales, construction, down to restaurants and tourism. 20 years later all of sleepy South Florida was unrecognizable. If you didn't see it beforehand, you would never believe it.

These things are true. NIL has opened the door for the very rich, usually billionaires, to legally give insane amounts of money. All the while benefiting from tax write-offs and feeding their huge egos as they are heros to dear ole U. For the most part these people weren't interested in handing over these huge amounts anonymously under the table. Money always talked. The traditional powers, mostly SEC, have been joined by others at the top of the feeding trough. In the past it was conference revenue and brown paper bags of cash.
