BYU, I think will be pretty cool, plus I'm interested in traveling to Provo and seeing the LDS history and that stuff. I've never been to Utah. Arizona, I dont care either way, but glad we shortened Maryland.

He wanted to be in DMV more regularly for networking. Whit really didnt want a long series.
Makes sense.... and be interesting if they keep Arizona and BYU as well. alot of stuff....

Where are you hearing that VT paid to reduce the series? That would be a very odd decision against a P2 regional opponent unless we have a whale to replace them with some media money in made for tv matchups.
It might be true that we paid. It’s just odd to me. Very curious to see what additional information is shared by VT or reporters on this.

Ermann reported/wrote about this and he doesn't give a specific name of who told him, but does report the source is an athletic official from U.of Maryland. ACC rule requires 9 conference games and its not on Maryland. We didn't have any other choice. We absolutely did pay.

be on the hook to do that for all members who cancel a future game/series. Most likely the schools chalk it up to the cost of doing business in the conference. Particularly if all schools or majority of the schools approved the scheduling change.

Losing a home game, and requiring us to travel to SMU is a huge hit to our funding this year.

To be able to schedule games with a program like Baylor means to me that there was a lot of advance warning. There is a lot of respect for Virginia Polytechnical Institute all through the Maryland athletic programs (including baseball -- we miss Coach Szefc).
Most Maryland fans would rather mix it up with Tech, even though it might hurt in DMV recruiting...

I assume this is so we can add a 9th acc game.
Probably been in works for a while just waiting to announce.
We are the ones breaching the contract so no way around paying up.
