About the only positive is that this was a bad loss, not an expected one
Losing this game severely curtails the likelihood of VT finishing with more than 7 or 8 wins in the regular season, though.

All those years VT would lose games to teams like ECU, they were games that VT was a strong favorite, games they should have won. Even 2 years ago, VT wouldn't have been a favorite, this result would've been expected, not an upset.
