About firing Pry, but who with exceptional experience is available. Thinking back, Frank Beamer had a miserable 5 years when he took over Tech. Not sure it applies today, but a thought. Sometimes a bird in the bush.

Honestly I think our options are going to be HCs in one of the following G5
conferences: MAC, Sunbelt, AAU, and Conference USA. That is unless there is some coordinator out there from the Saban tree that is not yet a HC. Those guys tend to be very successful.

A Saban protege makes more sense than a James Franklin protege.

That didn't work so well with Fuente. Admittedly, I thought it was a good hire at the time, too. I think it was luck of the draw, we picked one that didn't have what it took to run a program bigger than a G5 Memphis.
Norvell followed Fuente. I thought FSU did well to pick Norvell. But, is he a Fuente-type bad decision?

It was a good hire until people around the program decided they didn’t like not having a personable guy like Frank around. Too many people couldn’t take real critiques and got their soft feelings hurt. Fuente wasn’t a fit here but idk if there is a “fit” for what fans want in the personality department that can also win

with his Miss St. level (4.5 million). He is only 52...who knows if he still wants to coach but certainly young enough

My guess is that he gets offers now. Guessing none that excited him.
I would think he would already have a contract to coach somewhere if the offers were good enough to beat what he does now. I have no idea what he makes now, surely less than he made coaching, but what he does now is a LOT less hours and less stress.
But, you never know what someone's motivation is. Some guys may look and think they like the challenge, with a fan base that isn't SEC-level ridiculous.

Came back to coach VT when the program was under NCAA restrictions. And how many he could recruit each year and scholarships that was allowed.People seem to forget that. Dave Braine stepped in and told him to cleanup his staff and get rid of certain ones. Then once that was done and Frank could get the full scholarship numbers.Things changed.Dave Braine was a damn AD that done his job...This help...carry on

sit in on Frank’s game planning and fully understand what was going on. Jim Weaver was also a former player and coach as well and also sat in the game planning meetings. Whit Babcock was not a football player, or football coach, and I seriously doubt if he ever sits in a football game planning session. And if he did, I’m not sure if he would understand what’s going on.
