Brent will work his ass off as DC. He was a good DC at Penn State, he just wasn’t a head coach. He will be a great recruiter with JF. I have changed my mind concerning this hire. Brent and James have been together a long time. They probably use a different way of communicating when working. It is alright to know your strengths, Brent discovered his.

I saw a team last night that didn’t want to win the game, and there are coaches on this team that played in this game. Way didn’t Monty unleash the Krackin last night. One last game to give everything you have and go out with a win, but no. What we got was the same tired vanilla plays. Thank god this season is over and JF is in charge. Things look bleak, but there is a way we can see next Saturdays game. These men have nothing to loose. Some will not be on this team next year. They can let go and play without fear. Bash and Crash. Put Pop in and give The Hoos something they haven’t seen. Play like Bud’s old game plans. Scare them, hurt them, blitzed them from everywhere. Stop being vanilla and be dangerous.

If JF did come to VT. With the 226 million he could build a program never before seen in college football. He could recruit and buy the best players, get the best assistants, and go after the unthinkable. Fired couches are pissed off. Penn State would watch in horror from Happy Valley at a program they only wish they had. Just dreaming out loud.

Shane coming to Tech would be an impossible situation. He would be compared to his father at the beginning and always. If he failed he would be criticized endlessly. We have had 2, a real head coach with tons of experience. Top prospects. Bite the bullet and ack like a football school. If they want to play with the big boys act like it. There is no other way. They would loose millions if they try to save millions. No coordinators need apply. Discard anyone who hasn’t been a successful head coach. Stop being a school where coaches go to die.

They would both quit and save Va Tech their buyout. Pry needs to admit this is beyond his ability. If this team is the reflection of the coach then Pry is blind to the reality of what he built. Someone needs to step in and fix this mess. Tech fans and the university deserves it.

Keep Pry and let this run its course. Stop throwing good money after bad. The law of averages says it must turn around. Hit rock bottom and build on top of the rubble. Look at Vandy.

We had a great run for a few decades, but those days are gone and will never return. In the new era of NIL we can’t compete. There are college football players making over a million dollars a year. The days of scholar athletes are dead. Tech can’t compete with these schools. We land in a lower universe of college football. Pry isn’t to blame, he can’t afford the horses. Maybe in the future college football will realign or the NCAA will straighten this mess out, but until then we must support these young men.

Reading this board. As if something will ever change. The modern football program has passed us by. This is what the Va Tech dollar can buy. 2-10 would be optimistic.

Into? This is a beater of a football program. I can’t imagine how bad this wrack is going to look next year. The only thing keeping this mess on four wheels is the fanatical fan base. I have tried to stay positive but it is clear until some serious changes are made there isn’t any football future for Tech. We will fall to the bottom of the ACC, Tech will be known as the “once was”

About firing Pry, but who with exceptional experience is available. Thinking back, Frank Beamer had a miserable 5 years when he took over Tech. Not sure it applies today, but a thought. Sometimes a bird in the bush.

And it the first time I have stopped watching two games in a row. The OL sucks, there is no other way to describe them. Understandable that a red shirt freshman QB doesn’t have the experience needed to make certain plays, but he needed help. The team is outawack. Even if Tech was to win next week, which I hope they don’t, Tech doesn’t deserve a bowl. The only way for Pry and company to rise from the ashes is to hit rock bottom. Losing to Duke is bad enough, but losing to The Hoo’s in Lane would be disgraceful. A pain felt so deeply that Pry will be forced to make changes. He will have no other option. One critical observation, if you have ever played safety your number one rule is no one gets behind you, no one, that is your job, that is where the name comes from, and this happened twice in four plays. Enough of this, there is no fixing this mess! For the second time in a row a Tech coach will have run this once proud program into the ground. What will this fix cost Tech!

Has Drone’s been injured since the Vandy game? He hasn’t looked the same as last year all season. Not looking for an excuse, just wondering. With the changes at QB & TB tonight it might provide a spark. Wallace Wade isn’t exactly a death trap. With Duke healthy they will pose a challenge.

both Tech & Duke, Duke is far more aggressive, especially on defense. With the way players and coaches have performed recently I don’t see a win this weekend. Pry didn’t sound positive in his press conference. He looked worried, almost distracted. As if he knows something he isn’t revealing. This team isn’t going to be rewarded with the way they are playing. Sorry, just looking at this realistically.

Pry had top 10 defensives. He was co head coach and coached LB. PennState is a big draw. Top talent made him look awful good. I do believe there needs to be a change at the offensive coordinator position. Just an observation, why does the offense look so bewildered. There is a lot of pre snap movement that is designed to create defensive eye candy, but way then run off tackle for a yard. Maybe allow Drones to be more instinctive, be more unexpected. Like in the Tulane game. The progression of the offense looks slow. It is somewhat maddening. Some games they look unstoppable, while others look like they couldn’t beat a high school team. Beamer had less talent and did more with it. Those teams played like their hair was on fire. Watching the Texan's yesterday against The Lions reminded me of those Beamer teams. I hate to say it but teams mirror the personality of there coaches. Maybe the NIL has changed coaching methods. I have no idea how a team with such promise could underperform this badly.

Just reading the on what it felt like before the bowl streak. Many on here will never remember Old Miles Stadium. My friends and I would play with are plastic footballs in the end zone at halftime, or going to Roanoke for the annual VMI / VPI game. After the University built Lane Stadium I was an usher as a Boy Scout. Those days in the 60’s when Lane was empty watching Don Strock throw the ball all over the yard, Frank Loria making All American. In the 80’s Bruce Smith doing his thing, terrorizing quarterbacks. Tech was an independent in those days, but it was great fun being a fan in Blacksburg. The Highty-Tighties would practice up Preston Ave in front of my house. Home Coming with the parade around the drill field. Lunch in the Alumni Center. Yes, it changed forever with membership in the Big East. Cornell Brown, Lee Suggs, Keven Jones and many more built the program we watch today. In the 60’s My father and I would listen to the away games on our radio. Dad would say after a loss, “They will break your heart” Tech has come a long way. I enjoy my memories of all those teams. It’s been great fun and is still grand fun.

The coaching staff has tried to turn him into an NFL quarterback, and removed his instincts for the position. What is wrong with being a great college quarterback. Take the shackles off him! Michael Vick comes to mind.

If he doesn’t want to go the way of the dodos 🦤 bird it is time to make the hard decisions a head coach must make for the betterment of the team.

But enough is enough. Pry has got to let the Offensive Coordinator go! It is entirely pathetic. I have seen high school offenses more imaginative.

You Must Play Boldly to Win! Words to compete by. 29 seconds left with 3 time outs remaining and you don’t even try to get down the field, knowing you have a kicker who can make it inside 57 yards. If you miss the field goal you still go to overtime, but at least you tried to win in regulation. A very conservative choice for a competitor knowing your defense is worn thin. Not very bold! It saddens me!

Are we talking about the same coach that won 3 games in a-row. I understand Coach Pry has made some bad in game time management decisions, yet today they were without the starting QB and starting tailback, and took it to overtime. Yes, the defense ran down. 0 coverage is difficult, the cornerbacks are playing 1 on 1, they can’t miss a tackle. Turnovers are death, as we saw. Support these men, don’t bash them. If you have ever played this game you know how emotion changes throughout the game. Stay positive as if you were playing the game.

All week before the game I kept hearing how dominant the Stanford D line was. We kept pounding on them with Tutten and throwing over their LB’s. They never looked that powerful.

As for the targeting call not made last night. If that wasn’t targeting then what constitutes targeting. The defensive player lowered his head, launch toward the QB, and hit him with the crown of his helmet. Unbelievable!

How do have 85% of a winning team back and you get worse. This program should be truly embarrassed. Pry needs to bend a few players and coaches. Back in 92’ Tech had lost the first two games, the team called a players only meeting before Miami coming into Lane. Tech beat Miami for the first time. Just a thought!
