Would Bud come back as HC to fulfill a dream and stick pry at Assoc HC?
Pry can run around and do his Recruiting he has done a better job at, Bud but could come and stabilize the program for two or three seasons, be the HC managed for the clock and let learn on the job probably very far fetched, but at this point, we don’t have a lot of options

but he is a very rare cat, and already was a successful head coach. Most people, once they step away from the rat race for any length of time, have no desire to get out of their hammock and go back. They lose their fire. This is probably true of Bud. The time to give him a chance was right after Beamer "retired," but it seemed the A.D. wanted to go in a different direction, likely due to his own vanity, and here we are.

and play the NIL game? If Foster is cut from the same type of cloth as Beamer and the other HCs from the previous era of college football, then it is probably best that Foster remain retired.

Bud couldn't get a HC job when he actually wanted one.
There have always been some small-level rumors about Bud and skeletons in his closet. I have no idea if that sunk him being a head coach, or his demeanor, or what....
