Posting History (126)

When the SEC and Big 10 split, their oversight board will very tight.

One reason it is moving so fast. They are done with NCAA. 29 will be the last year of FBS level as we know it.

It’s possible but I know him and his family, their hate for VT is next level

I have known him since he was 10 yrs old. I mean the whole family despises VT, too, Cousins, aunts , uncles etc. Dex leads the pack too. If he ever came to VT, it would shock me. Everything has a price though, possibly. Nah never happening.

Don’t let the door hit him. Going to be alot of talent coming JF or Chesney

Would like to keep Overton, Hawkins and some young OL, DL, Chambers, Robinson. Beyond that, Doesn’t really matter. I am sure I missed a couple. ** Edited by justolerable at 11/15/2025, 11:12:34 PM ** Edited by justolerable at 11/15/2025, 11:13:20 PM

If freshman QB isn’t a very accomplished passer he likely never will be.

Same for a pitcher. You can’t teach someone to throw at 18. There are outliers but that’s just an overall fact. You can teach keys, decisions, and footwork but under pressure their throwing mechanics usually revert to how they came in. You recruit good QBs and pitchers. Making one one very good, passing wise (accuracy) is not doable in general. My son is a D1 pitching coach deals with it every day.

None of these big names strike me as better coaches than Chesney.

Would be ideal if a new coach could bring a bunch of guys with him from a P2. Coaching wise I don’t think we could do better than Chesney. Watch JMu, good DL&OL, play hard, tackle extremely well, well rounded on all sides. They have an average or worse QB, or offense would be very good. Now that I promote them, ODU will probably upset JMU this weekend.

He is a good guy that got dealt a bad hand by Frank.

The abuse he takes from the fan base is just sad. If any of those people dumping on him knew he was doing exactly what he was told to do, maybe they would lighten up. Great guy and wonderful family. Hell of recruiter and one of the main reasons along with Cav that we got to the top of the hill or darn close to it.

Fully expect just that. Jumping for Sandman and Wofford W

After being kicked in the groin 3 weeks in row.. Fans should be exhausted.

VT has already had meetings regarding this structure with Deloitte.

Deloitte is a consultant Group that comes in provides structuring of everything, admin, recruiting, and coaching structure, NIL, Fundraising, media, everything down to strength and conditioning and training room. Matter of whether VT goes the whole route or designs their own along their lines. We know VT we is usually not much on hiring it done so.. we shall see.

This is the usual progression. VT is actually looking good, our SEC

opponents are flawed, same for all P2 schools we play. Let’s see how the game goes and decide on Sellers. He looks special and could start the year off with a bang if he slaps VT. He will be motivated as will Shane. Hope the Hokies step up. It’s been a minute. ** Edited by justolerable at 7/8/2025, 6:49:06 PM ** Edited by justolerable at 7/8/2025, 6:50:15 PM

They will have plenty to choose from. Getting to the top of the

Food chain is every young, or old coach’s, dream. The ACC is a very, very, desirable goal. Now more than ever. The door is closing on the mid majors. A lot of good coaches out there that will jump at the chance to have that on their resume. ** Edited by justolerable at 5/28/2025, 5:53:26 PM

ACC Baseball is very different in 2025, compared to 2010-15 or 2020.

Different playing field entirely. A top 40 budget Team had a punchers chance 10 yrs ago Not now. . . There will never be a Coastal Carolina run to Omaha. The Big Conferences and the money are far and away the winners and will be in the future. It’s worse than 95% of fans realize.

VT has a lot of challenges. Not a sought after destination and

Next to no NIL, Can’t change their situation or location and those challenges are the ones that matter most. Szefc knows how to coach and the players really like him. Who is VT going to get better? Maybe there is a Silver bullet hire out there. ** Edited by justolerable at 5/24/2025, 9:10:56 PM

It would be fun debating with you if VT is relevant

They aren’t and won’t be unless it’s in the Sunbelt. Sad situation. Pete Hughes LOL. K State is such a powerhouse and he is such an ass.

Crickets..yes true. I am not that interested, don’t watch TSL

Site much anymore. Of course better coaching would help so would more depth and on campus pitching. . In VT’s case they have a good HC. Players love him and his grumpy disposition They will be what they are now and in the future , maybe they get hit a yr or two every now and then. . Just where VT falls in the ecosystem. They do need a pitching coach in a bad way, that would help them maybe win a few more in ACC play. Probably about it.

As far as pitching, watch the best teams introduce guys that played very

Little early in the season and then ramp up in relief as the season comes to the last half Depth wins. Once the book and track man has every pitcher on video for opposing teams to face in the simulator and all tendencies and pitch sequences are available hitting gets easier. When batting coach is breaking down 10 pitchers it’s one thing when it is 16 it a chore chore to get in that much work and have players digest it.

They have a lot of postseason appearances and the teams they lose to

Are paying Players handsomely as well. If you don’t think money makes a difference in gathering talent and quality depth on a roster, I don’t see much use in explaining it to you. ** Edited by justolerable at 5/10/2025, 10:56:53 PM

I have been talking iNIL but the PC needs to go. Not

Well thought of and he is wearing the yoke for that unit. Recruiting is his responsibility. You recruit pitchers at this level. No PC is developing average pitchers to really good ones, except in a few, rare cases.

I am not talking about just the Pitt series.

Talent wins over a season and VT is lacking pitching depth and quality. Who gets the NIL $ ? Pitching is far away the winner. Short and CF next plus a couple bats. Saying it doesn’t matter is sticking your head in the sand. My son is a D1 pitching coach and he lives it every day.

Until VT comes up with NIL for baseball

It’s going to be like this most years, living on the tournament bubble. Doesn’t matter who the HC is Duke has $480k in NIL and they are not setting the world on fire. VT is continually at a disadvantage.
