A game you likely lose, but instead of a road loss, it is a neutral loss....big difference. Not sure why we would do that unless we are getting paid a huge sum. Even then, makes little sense.

Doubt VT would be a top 25 net team next season but MY lives on the top 50 bubble lately.
That gives Iowa the best chance for a quality win. I'm sure VT will get paid for travel expenses and some cash. I believe Iowa lost a lot of experience from last years squad.

attendance. Granted, it is still a long way for us. Hopefully, it’s some decent $ involved and it should help our SOS, which is always a problem for our perennial bubble team.

as much as possible. I do have mixed feelings that VT is playing another neutral site game which is really a home game for the opponent (think the neutral site game in Philly against St. Joe's). I do wonder if at some point VT will get to a place where it plays either a true neutral site game (think Duke vs. Gonzaga at MSG or in Chicago) or the neutral site game is viewed as another "home game" for VT (i.e. Roanoke, maybe Richmond, 757, or even DC depending on the opponent).

Durham, and basically the same amount as in the entire RTP area …
Sure it’s not the Cameron indoor student section but as someone who attended those games before, it’s as much of a one sided crowd as you’ll see anywhere

because Duke basketball has kind of evolved to Dallas Cowboys or NY Yankee status among the the fan bases. My point though is perceptually most people see it as a neutral site game because both teams have to travel a great distance to play the game. Also, people may assume because Durham is a lot closer than Spokane, then more Duke fans are willing to travel to see the game in person. Instead of thinking a large percentage of the fan base already lives in the area.
