First you dont understand how financing of athletics go. Salaries for personnel are part of the athletic dept. The Money from NIL through Triumph is NOT under the control or accountability of the VT Athletic dept or the university.
Second. welcome to POWER 2 football, where personnel staffing hiring and firing go all the time and guess what their fan base (no matter if its Mississippi St or LSU) dont get all involved and hyper, its the nature of the business.
Third, you are a fan, and all you do is pay to go to games, period. If you dont like it there are other venues... Again this is business, not some high school program.

the Athletics operating budget within the university. NIL money comes from outside the university. One doesn't offset the other, at least not yet.
