Given the state of football, we are FUBAR until the ACC gets this divorce

behind it. It feels like 4D chess trying to find a new AD, football coach and basketball coach while the ACC is dying a slow death. We need a few more chips to fall (e.g., a UNC or Clemson leaving) before we know the new landscape. It would seem our only option (because of finances) is to let both Pry and Young's contracts run out, and pray Sands will find a new AD to lay out a new vision for VT athletics. Given that our chances of landing in a blue blood conference is slim/none, that would make Sands' job very difficult with lot of uncertainty. Maybe we get lucky and NIL exhausts everyone's money such that 75% of the have-nots vote for change to save the sport.

Add to that, Cassell - especially an empty Cassell - doesn't hold much
