It’s actually them UNDERACHIEVING if they don’t get 6 to the CWS.
There needs to be some conference consideration in that 6-8 seed range so as not to stack ALL host spots with the top conference. Of course they’re going to have more top 25 wins etc etc because they have more opportunities
It’s like in Softball…yes you can say VT shouldn’t have lost to Pitt or IF they beat Clemson they’d host…WELL by YOUR metrics (committee), VT was well ahead of Oregon, Bama and even TTech. But then all of a sudden it was “number of top 25 WINS” for Bama but they didn’t consider the win % being so low for them…yet they cited win % as an advantage for Oregon.
I’m just saying the committee is a bunch of politicians who will spin their narrative when answering a question about a specific team but it often contradicts how things are done elsewhere in the bracket and they’re just hoping they aren’t asked about those discrepancies.
They’ve seeded the tournaments both softball and baseball setting up the SEC to have as many teams in OKC & Omaha respectively. Note the only SEC team not playing another SEC team in softball yesterday did lose.
Also in Supers all of the SEC hosts vs non-Sec teams were taken to 3 full games and they ended up winning 2 of 3 (Tennessee over Neb, Texas over Clemson) but all those wins for Tennessee & Texas were 1 run home wins. It’s not Iike they’re completely dominating non-SEC teams

But nobody will call out the NCAA BECAUSE ESPN is complicit
One top 8 seed and #9 FSU if they win at home has to travel to Corvallis, OR for supers

ranking system you want to give weight to but here is a look at how the different teams ranked in RPI, KPI (which the selection committee is provided as an additional data point) and the Massey Composite (which incorporates multiple rating systems).
ACC #1 Seeds
- UNC: Overall Seed of #5. RPI of #6, KPI of #2, Composite of #3. For reference, the teams above them had rankings of 1/1/1 (Vanderbilt), 4/3/4 (Texas), 5/4/2 (Arkansas) and 3/5/9 (Auburn). I think you could make an argument they should have maybe been the #4 seed above Auburn and they are really close to Texas and Arkansas. Either way, I don't think their seeding was egregious.
- Florida State: Overall Seed of #9. RPI of #14, KPI of #11, Composite of #15. With them, I think you could make the argument they actually got a favorable seeding.
- Clemson: Overall Seed of #11. RPI of #9, KPI of #8, Composite of #16. With them, they probably have an argument they should have been ranked higher by a few spots and arguably could have been swapped with Florida State based on their rankings.
Outside of that, Georgia Tech was in the mix for a #1 seed and obviously being the regular season ACC champions is a big accomplishment...but it's hard to use that as an argument now that leagues are so much bigger and the schedule imbalances that exist. In any case, I think they should have gotten a #1 seed over Souther Mississippi (19/28/20), but I think both Alabama (13/14/19) and Florida (17/16/13) had just as compelling of rankings as GT (21/17/18) did so it's hard to say it was specifically the ACC getting hosed and somehow as a result of the SEC.
Beyond that, I think the other ACC teams are seeded pretty reasonably. And then with UVA missing the tournament, I don't think they got hosed either when you look at their ratings compared to the Last 4 that got in. Here is how they stacked up against those teams in the same rankings (RPI/KPI/Composite):
- Arizona State: 49/34/32
- Kansas State: 37/42/45
- Oklahoma State: 44/32/36
- USC: 45/43/43
------------
- UVA: 64/47/41
Their RPI sticks out like a sore thumb. Even if you ignore that, they are lower than all four in the KPI system and are just barely above USC and Kansas State in the Massey Composite.

And got worse when FSU was paired vs the best pitcher in the country in #12 seed Texas Tech so no SEC team would be knocked out by her.

How many in the SEC would NC State win in softball?

But UK couldn’t touch VT, Stanford or Clemson
Clemson beat USCe & Tennessee
Stanford beat Texas
FSU shut out Florida
Hokies beat UK & Bama (split during reg season)
The records of the top teams head to head didn’t match seeds given

The ACC doesnt get hosed. The ACC cant compete. Its by far the worst football conference of the major conferences and always has been. Going 2-12 or whatever it was in the ACC Sec basketball tells you all you need to know. There have been 43 softball national champions. The ACC has won 1. There have been 77 baseball national champions. The ACC has won 2. The flaw is not with the committee its that the ACC stinks. Our problem is we are always squarely on the bubble either to get in or to host. How about being just a little bit better and not being on the bubble. Quit your insufferable whining

Go back to FSU football snub
ESPN & SEC have carried the narrative the ACC was inferior when it wasn’t true NOW they’ve made it come true over the course of the last decade
It’s definitely true now in football & basketball but it’s much closer in baseball and softball so since ESPN runs the tourney they’re setting up the ACC to fail in those tourneys too thru seeding bias

While no one will disagree that the ACC was once the best basketball conference, the ACC was never close to the SEC in football. Here are the records by decade with the ACC listed first.
1950s. 17-34
1960s. 11-62-4
1970s. 21-46-1
1980s. 21-37-2
1990s. 26-33-1
2000s. 32-47
2010s. 44-57
2020s 17-34
Bowl Games 31-56
If you want to go by seasons the acc has had the better record 11 times the overall record by season is 11-56-4.
While the ACC did get up to a 44 pct winning pct 1 decade and improved, which decade was the ACC better or equal.
Clemson is an impressive 47-76 against the SEC. FSU is the only team with a winning record.
You want good television. FSU lost their qb, they would have been destroyed had they made it
