Sadly, he's correct here. We have a lot of guys that can run it up to a reasonable velo.....and can hit an impressive spin rate.... But my goodness, when we miss, we miss badly......like right down broadway... I've watched the staffs at Wake and Duke and UNC to name a few just nibble on the outside or under the hands until they figure out the umpire zone and they stay there..... We need to somehow change our approach on how we prepare for the mound... I posed a question to some of my baseball friends before this tourney started......"How many runs will we have to score combined in the Duke and NC State games to win them both?" I predicted 20 runs total........well, that would have won last night's game by 1 run. We scored 8 and 9 runs respectively. That offensive production should win games
