I've done the math and I think this may have been a result of a few guys returning who were draft eligible and the coaches letting them know they might have limited roles/fighting for a spot on the team. We still have several guys who will have to be cut after the fall to get down to 34. I had hopes both pitchers could develop further, but I hope they get to go somewhere where they get plenty of innings and chances to hit their ceilings. It's pretty late in the game to transfer, so it will be interesting to see where they end up as guys with a decent number of IP against D1 opponents.
