Wake coach Steve Forbes was hospitalized for six days earlier this summer
according to an article in today’s paper (Winston Salem). Coach MY got a mention in said article:
“He drove down from Blacksburg on a Saturday, and I was not doing good,” Forbes said. “And he came and sat with me for two hours. And so, he's a really good friend.”

While we are on the subject of Costco, is Roanoke going to get one anytime
soon? I live in Winston Salem and Roanoke had a Sam's Warehouse long before we had one here. I don't understand what the demographic problem is that is causing Roanoke not to have a Costco.

It was a support phone number that came up during the verification process.
The other two guys I spoke to using the same number legitimately tried to help. I figured they had a rouge support staffer.

Ever had to use Peacock TV support? It is the world’s worst. The support is
clearly off shore. I signed up on Thursday to watch the TdF for the month. I had to call and speak to three different guys, none of which fixed the problem. The second guy I spoke to tried to get me to send him an Apple gift card. He said that is how they could verify my identity. You know you are getting old when you invest 2 1/2 hours to fix an $8.55 one month subscription. Ended up using the chat support feature to get things straighten out.

^^^^^ This worked for me. I would say "dump" instead of "spray'. It took
two applications but was 100% effective. I never had much luck eradicating yellow jackets with that foam stuff.

In the mid 1960s in Roanoke the only birds I remember seeing in the city
were Starlings and pigeons (Wasena bridge).

Winston Salem NC. The plants are on their own during the winter. The
weather guy on tv commented that we received the most rainfall in May since 1929. I have a friend who grades tobacco for RJ Reynolds who says too much rain is actually bad for some plants (like tobacco).

Need input from Roanoke area or on line connections looking at Colt
product that retails at $1,5K (python). I don’t care if it’s new. Where can I check out for a more realistic price (Roanoke or on line)? PS: I am not in the process of a divorce.

True story: back in 1979 I (along with another coworker who was from
Princeton WV) were sent to Beckley WV for a week to help with our Beckley office. We were about 1/2 a block off the town square. We had breakfast each morning at GC Murphy’s. The fellow breakfast patrons, smoking their breakfast cigars, seemed to be concerned that we might be government related since we were wearing suits and ties. Regarding our accommodations our room had a wooden palette to stand on in the shower and exactly enough hot water for a three minute shower. That being said the guys in the Beckley office were A+ and there was a great restaurant called Char that made the stay tolerable. Beckley was different.

Pro Tip: before installing the new hose prepare a dilute Clorox solution
and run it through the hose to eliminate possible bacteria. I replaced a hose and about a week later noticed that the water coming out of the sprayer reeked. Did a google search and found out that I wasn’t the only one that had the problem. So I got to install the hose twice. You would think running hot water through the hose would solve the smell problem but it didn’t.

Free Thai Basil seeds. I’ve been planting a couple of Thai Basil plants
the last 4-5 years. I saved some seeds from 2024. Thai Basil is a really great fresh herb for recipes that call for stuff like coconut milk. I’ll be happy to share these seeds with whoever would like them. I’ll pay postage etc. just provide a mailing address to duckbill77 at AOL.com ok I know it’s a strange sounding email address but bear in mind it an original aol address. I’ve been on this board for a while so if you are interested this is on the up and up. For historical reference I still remember one of the posters that had the photo of a kitchen full a wide variety of peppers ready for processing..

There are LED tubes that are called "Plug and Play" that you can (Link)
just plug into the old "tomb stones" without rewiring. The box the tubes came in said "plug and play" on it. I just finished replacing some florescent tubes with plug and play LED tubes and they work great. Over the last 2-3 years the fluorescent tubes were getting more and more crapy. They would only last 6-8 months so I made the switch.

Pretty easy and pretty good. Velveeta is less likely to break (separates into oil and cheesy gunk) so go if you go with a store brand soft cheese be careful.

say (fill in the blank)" for tomorrow's Super Bowl get together. What is a good word to designate as "the" word?
Most participants are Philadelphia fans. We will be using some half ass tequila for the shots. Almost everyone will be walking to the party.

Along the same lines as kids buying hoodies/t shirts with bands they know
nothing about, we received one of the ubiquitous Shutterfly Christmas cards from my niece’s family (they live in Cambridge, MA). One of the photos was of her husband (with two of their five kids) wearing a Nirvana tee shirt but the picture on the shirt is the “band” Hanson. Well it is kind of a funny “statement“.
