based on the jobs that will be available, we will end up with someone
of this caliber. we have zero shot at someone like Franklin, Napier, etc. when there are other programs both willing to pay top dollar for a coach AND have the facilities and resources in place (and have for awhile). VT will be a hard sell for a top HC candidate.
i personally think we need to sign Bob Chesney asap.

Well I don’t want Whit being involved in this decision which is why I quit
Donating a couple years ago. He’s proven incompetence and it appears he’s going to be allowed to hire a third HC. we’re 5-10 years behind every other school who will need a HC this offseason when it comes to funding and total package. We aren’t positioned to pull in a coach over FSU, UNC, Clemson, Fla. etc. the outcome of this HC search will be bleak

yep, and that backwoods / boonie mentality got us where we are today
thought we could ride the coat tails of beamer for 30 years without making adjustments to recruiting, funding etc. to the point where we had a HC literally call out his own school for lack of funds and we do nothing for another 5 years
also, no funding was the reason we hired Pry, bc we couldnt afford anyone better. same for Bowen/Marve.

committee is supposedly narrowing down the search and whit and prez get to make final call. he absolutely should not be here much less making this call

Whit tells Roth the committee won’t select the HC, they just present 2-4
Options to Whit and a couple other people for final selection. There’s zero chance Whit should be allowed to make this final call. It should absolutely be the next ADs choice. If VT is dumb enough to keep Whit for a third coaching cycle, it will negatively affect me donating as I imagine it will many others as well.

the admin gave him / pry what i would call slightly more money to throw around but nothing to elevate the program to the level we are talking about happening now. thats it. id love to have Fuente as a coach again, with his offense, and with enough money to compete for great players.

i thought it was more realignment from the overall managerial perspective, and allocating more money to athletic fund to make us competitive. would be great to get any and everyone associated with Beamer era out

well be a lot higher up after we get the money Fuente asked for years ago
if we really do get $200M for the athletic dept then we will be able to go after most any coach we want
AND that HC will have enough money to pay assistants on par with Clemson/FSU so we WILL be able to attract the top available coaches
