If you make the tournament, you at least have a chance.

It's called March Madness for a reason. Just get in the field every year and 95% of the fanbase will be happy.

Not a VA company but...

Southern X. They've made enough money off VT students to sponsor the football team.

Franklin has been on ESPN, and Hokiesports has provided a lot of material

All the while trying to rebuild a program that was nearly burnt to the ground. Look at the recruiting and transfer class he had to work to bring in. Small market papers need to get over themselves; Franklin is here to first and foremost restore VT to a Top 25 and National Program, not spend his days on the radio with Jim Bob from ESPN Radford. ** Edited by VTFinance10 at 2/11/2026, 7:21:29 AM

U.S. Mixed Curling

I cheered more when he knocked out 3 of Sweden's stones with one shot than I did during any point of the Super Bowl.

Student fees are only going up $100

If students are complaining about this, I don't think they actually understand how little they're impacted.

Additonally

As been noted time and time again, VT has some of the lowest athletic fees across the entire country, and they will still be low with this increase. Also, the success of VT Football will only increase the University's profile and standing (e.g. a successful football program will lead to more, and likely higher quality, applicants). It's a very small increase for students with the potential for a big return.
