Are we going to start tracking jets, making top / reach candidates list...
Do we prefer an exciting young dean from an elite ranked school that has experience in the upper echelon of academia but no presidential experience? Or do we want an established president from a lesser ranked school who hasn't ever been in the big leagues but does have experience running an entire school?

Hard to imagine UF hires a peer program's leftovers...
They must consider themselves on par with PSU if not the better program. Would they really be willing to fire a guy a similar institution fired?

Athletic revenue being 14 of 18 in the ACC and dead last among public schools is outrageous. What a shame... :(

Wouldn't that have hurt us this year? ...
The idea seems to be to increase the odds that ACC #2 gets an invite by giving them a win over ACC #3, while #1 gets an autobid.
But this year that would mean SMU gets the autobid, while Clemson and Miami play for #2. I don't think either gets ahead or Alabama or USCe.

Clemson gets a ton of small alumni donations, Google "IPTAY"...
Their alumni just care more. Meanwhile we're near the bottom of the ACC in alumni giving. :(
I'll never understand that given that VT always ranks high on metrics of students loving their school and community.

If true, perhaps PSU won't want to lose both co-DCs in one year...
Social media rumors are that he and Franklin hate each other, explaining the lateral move.

The "they are still coaching" rationale for why we didn't hire anyone yet wss great. But everyone even mentioned is now free. Even Poindexter and Sorensen.

Some folks on social media say it was planned!? Or he only paid for insurance for half the game!? All hearsay for now.
But he wasn't hurt, and I can't imagine they don't put him back in for the last drive if it was up to the coaches.

The oldest son in As I Lay Dying was named Cash. That and the gruesome parts from The Things They Carry are the only things I remember from ENG 1106. Prof was nice though.

I wonder if our DC hiring delay is good or bad news...
It could be good. Maybe the Poindexter rumors are true. Maybe VT hasn't made a move because the guy we'll get is still coaching in the CFP or NFL. (NIU just finished their bowl a few days ago, and their DC is also a good target).
It could be bad too. Maybe VT hasn't made a move because everyone turned us down and Whit is scrambling to find anyone with a pulse before hiring from within.
I guess the real question is, how much faith do you guys have in the AD?

New Hokiesports.com looks great, I hated old one...
Seemed like rhe entire ACC used Sidearm Sports or something to run their athletic websites. Pain in the ass on phones, buggy, slow, difficult to get to schedules.

I sincerely think Duffy is better prepared than FCKB was when he was hired
She clearly has a better resume and in a P6 conference. I'm excited to see if she can keep the momentum up!

She's 53-24 in the SEC...
In this year's SEC tournament she lost to South Carolina by one point. She's never done worse than NCAA 2nd round and made several sweet 16s including putting up a hell of a fight for us last year. This year they lost a close one to an NC State that is in the final four.
She seems like a great coach. We'd be crazy to pass if she is avaliable. Even crazier to grab an unproven assistant over her.

Most teams: 12-2, win conf. champ, OT loss in CFP = best season in 20 yrs!

Exactly, why pay $300m to break GoR and make $45m /yr if ACC pays $40m now?
