MY had the money this year! Excuses Excuses !
No reason to play so poorly yesterday following a great win at Clemsom. I think yesterday more people starting to believe that sooner than later changes must be made in basketball. ( Football moment)
Good coaches know how to finish games!!!
Face it MY just a great 500 coach .
Good news, no discussion on conrtracr extension and thats a problem for next year and transfer portal . I say , " Let it ride into the sunset! "

Some were astounded by the great
Portal class MY acquired and kept saying we were a top 20 team .
I pointed out everyone else competed and got their portal players too.
What's telling and has to be analyzed the inability of the staff to continue and develop, teach the players. I have not seen any great development so far this season. That's the most disappointing aspect .

Maybe we should cut all basketball funding
To think we pay a coach 4 million a year with assumption that we can never win in Blacksburg is ludicrous . If so, Leaders must go with such wasteful resources

We can't approach Basketball Athletics as defeate
sure it's highly competitive in the ACC . if we have this attitude then why aspired to be in the SEC and BIG 10
Bottom line it's a business. We need to make money in basketball.
I like MY but it's really a business and you have to continue to build /change/ evolve the product.
He gets paid $4.0 million a year in compensation. VT should expect more from the program!
That's a hefty load for VT Athletics to carry to say :
" All shucks we can't beat the top six teams but sometime, who cares "
I say don't fire MY but let the contract expire and in the meantime build the vision for basketball future and have a plan in place when you hire the next coach !

No firing good guy and deserves to retire , let his contract run out ; but it's time for the University/ Leadership establish a plan , and without Babcock , to build this programs . A coach with a vision !

He had the resources this year and everyone was ecstatic on the prospects and season . Even talking about top 20 material. What happened? He evaluated and it's his team .
Good season but another Ho hum season . We did see marginal improvements but not the likes of Miami , nc state , and uva.
Times to start a new committee to start studying the basketball program

Yes if we stayed on a on course with marginal upgrades i would agree. Shows you how inept how our leadership been for over 10 years in investing in the program.
Not having heating / ac in the indoor facility is an embarrassment to our program and leaders.

Sometimes I think its how MY staff develops and motivate players . What we are seeing players leaving the program and making exponentially Look at Pedullla, Collins .
Our players just dont look like they are nit having fun.
i support Neo , staff must coach him up !

First year of Odom tenure:. top ten team revamped squad . Look at VT :. everybit a . 500 club with a revamped squad.

I believe MY contract expires next year and surprising there isnt any discussion on renewing contract. Alot of crickets in Merryman.
I believe a decision already made to run out the contract and new coach hired. Good and decent way to make a change.
I suspect when the new AD is hired đ¤,this will be his biggest priority since a plan is in place for the football program.

Why everyone so upset?
This team is picked to be 12th in the ACC.
Its classic VT !. Win 1 then 4 losses. Win 2 then 5 losses.
Last three years this is the trend.
Look at UVA which this message board so fixated on: New coach ,new players lose at VT come back and rolling . Made the necessary adjustments.
How can a program maka a complete turnaround from last year?
Gave them a pass w WF tonight just inexcusable.

Very fortunate to have a great coach as Franklin.
He may have some clunker games but the reputation in the profession is by far the best.
