Does any food have a greater range of quality than onion rings?

The distance between good and bad onion rings is enormous and when you order them you can find them all along the spectrum

I was tricked into seeing it yesterday by a reviewer that compared it to

Silence of the Lambs. I have no idea where they got that comparison. It should have been compared to something from Stephen King. I was not a fan mostly because it was not what I was expecting or wanting to see.

Anyone else do the 911 challenge?

I did it sometime around 1997. One of the worst things that I've ever done! It was early in the evening and all my friends wanted to go out afterwards; they didn't participate. I went home and sat on the couch and suffered. I'm thinking that it wasn't worth the free shirt.

Is your current career completely outside of your college degree?

I graduated from VT in '99 with an EE degree. I spent 7 years as a Power Systems Engineer, then decided to become a middle school math teacher. Currently finishing up my 17th year as a teacher. Just curious if anyone else is doing something completely different from their degree.

My last day is Friday. Enjoy your Summer!

Did you end up getting the PE position that you interviewed for?

The Lounge 2 y ago

Wow!

I have a hard time finding green peanuts this time of year.

I loved Summers in Blacksburg and still do. My mom lives in Floyd so my

family and I go back every Summer to visit. It's funny, my kids have only really seen Blacksburg in the Summer until this past Spring Break when my 16 year old daughter and I drove through campus during a class change. She couldn't get over how many people there were.

I wish mine stayed at school.

I love her to death, but she and my 16 year old will argue all Summer. It gets old really quick. I agree, 14 weeks is a long time! And she brings home a dog and a cat.

What if AI could be used to create a personalized list of shows and movies

across different platforms that I would like to watch? That would be a great use of AI as I've wasted so much time trying to find things on my own.

This is why I finally cancelled Netflix

I wasted so much time searching for a "good" show or movie to watch and half the time I just gave up. I need AI to create a database of things that I would like to watch on different platforms.

Beef Brisket. Worth the hassle?

I love to cook and grill. For years I've thought about smoking a brisket, but the more I read about it, the more it just seems like a big pain in the butt. Somehow I ended up on a FB group that is all about brisket and those people are crazy with all their techniques and it seems like half the time they end up with poor results. So, what do you all have to say about smoking a brisket?

This may be a stupid question, but

if someone sells a house and then buys another one wouldn't that be a net change of zero on housing inventory?

Whatever happened with the missing VT student?

I know that he was "found", but did he ever go home or were anymore details released about his disappearance?

The Lounge 2 y ago

If you don't mind me asking, how old are you?

No judgement either way. I'm just thinking that at my age, 53, I don't think I have the balls to try that, but might of when I was younger.

Accept all cookies?

I've gotten in the habit of just clicking "Accept all Cookies" when I go to a webpage. Is there any reason that I should or shouldn't do this?

Just got rid of an '08 Corolla. I've had a couple of them for the kids

and they are absolutely bulletproof. The last one had 200,000 miles on it and I never did anything more than oil and brakes. I know you said you already know about them, but I just wanted to throw out my personal experience.
