Normal traffic is a bear; throw in an accident and it’s unbearable. Above all, go to Leonard’s Bakery and get a box of malasadas. Shaved ice from a food truck on North Shore too. Yum!

Very good ship tour (you’re a week early though when they light it up for Christmas) and you’ll see the first ice cream cone maker at Doumar’s. If you want to stretch your legs, go to Mount Trashmore to walk/run laps. Very nice rec facility (VA Beach is capable of doing something right on occasion). Better yet, go to the oceanfront and walk the boardwalk. Ice cream cone at DQ while you get in steps. If not in a rush Sunday morning, go to Doc Taylor’s for breakfast and a mimosa and then walk it off. Note: you can park at Doc’s for free and go for that walk, just tell the staff. If you want something to do very close by, go to Enson Market right down the street on Indian River Road. It’s a huge Asian market with a variety of food and other products. Walk the aisles and you’re bound to find something to take home. Tip: in the back of the right side of the store there are refrigerators with great pastries - get some. Bad news: Founders Inn is in a terrible traffic corridor. Being just off the interstate might minimize the pain but it’s still a mess.

Crazy how things work out. I thought it was a lost cause when Ethan Nwaneri signed (was supposedly linked to Eze if Ethan moved on) but then Havertz gets injured. I was originally going by him being a former Arsenal Academy player as to why I thought he would be a Gunner plus I think he would definitely get more playing time in a year leading up to the World Cup at Tottenham. Eze was sold the Arsenal project months in advance of Tottenham's move so I'm guessing that in the end won him over. Go Arsenal!

This is 100% a travesty. I’ve been a few times for rocket launches and it’s a great experience. The staff there are really informative and you get live updates while you wait. They even clued us in to the ISS passing by while we were waiting for a rocket launch that would be resupplying it. Amazing how “close” it was but would not have known about without being told. From what I can tell, they’ll only be launching sounding rockets prior to closure, one of which will carry university experiments including one from VA Tech. If you’re passing through the Eastern Shore prior to closure, it’s worth a stop even without a launch.

I visited my BIL at his RV campsite yesterday. He spends hours getting it ready, making the drive, unloading and setting up, cooking, drinking!, then does everything again in reverse order. I told him he is not only committed but needs to be committed.

Weight is definitely important. Number one rule of submarines: number of dives MUST equal number of surfaces. I once worked on a team evaluating a foreign navy’s design and building of a submarine. Half way through their build they realized they lost weight control management - they essentially built a sinker. Needless to say, we came up with a way to adjust the design so the sub would indeed surface.
