only one FT so far. Miami has taken a few more. Pasha 2 TOs in 3 minutes.

Dorn the Dunker master! However, when they run high ball screen he does not block the guard cutting through. Let's see what happens. We can win this. Also, the foul on Tobi for the shot block was major BS. Ref called it before the action.

Carleigh also was able to seamlessly take over the point when Nelson fouled

out. She had Suffren and Daley as her wings. Looked like a very good pg in that situation. No forcing, options, etc. Suffren is really emerging! And, making 84% + of FT's as a team.

Wells and suffren are our best on the ball defenders. As they improve their

Offenseβ€”Daly is needed less. Nelson’s offensive production is also improving. The 4 guards consistently attacked the UVA D by driving. Resulted in lay ups and free throws. Coaches must of saw something in prep and challenged our guards to drive. This also allows baker to float outside and draw a big away from the paint. Game plan and execution was a very solid passing score! ** Edited by 134023Hokie at 2/2/2026, 2:44:07 PM

Having been to a game this year in person--Petersen needs to add lower body

strength to raise her ceiling. She is a smart player and will get 10-15 minutes as needed. Absent some real increases in lower body and foot speed she is not going to be 25 minute player at this level.

Freelon is not a 5. She is a stretch 4. Trent has to develop if we are

Going to have a higher ceiling. They did play together for some minutes. Duffy is facing the challenge of how to use the 200 minutes. If Freelon is on the court as a 4 then baker is a 3. This takes minutes from all of the guards. What are the best rotations? Freelon prove earlier that she can’t play low postβ€”she quickly gets into foul trouble. Trent and Jenkins have to developβ€”and this will be painful in terms of wins. It is what it is. Only Freelon and Mel are finishing eligibility. Play the Frosh to the extent it is possible.

Having attended the game-I believe she is lacking in

Lower body strength. The slow feet is a result. She gets bodied and the other player goes around her. Whether she is playing at 3,4, or 5 she needs more strength. Watching the other ladies you see a lot more sound base.

definitely out schemed Sunday. JMU very experienced, ran the clock down,

etc.; Surprised that we did not press--maybe we don't have the athletes to do so. JMU showed that a good, grind it out patient offense will give us trouble. Also, did not like not playing Jenkins at all. We are back to playing Baker and Wenzel 35+ minutes a game.

we are more athletic and have a deeper bench. Will struggle if games are

a half court grind because of lack of inside size. Will be top 6 or so in ACC. The teams that have great coaching and inside size will be trouble for us--will have to shoot well from outside, minimize turnovers, etc. Suffren is intriguing. I don't think she is a PG. She does not distribute. She is a terror on defense and in the open court--finishing. Duff needs to figure out guard minutes. Swanson is experienced but not impressed. Need those minutes to Wells and Suffren and run!

Riptides are difficult to diagnose when you are in one. I got caught in

one 25 years ago or so at the Outer Banks. I am reasonably good swimmer and have swam in the Ocean at the OBX since I was child. It took me a good 5 to 7 minutes to figure out that I was not going to be able to swim back in. I was able to process the issue and swam parallel for a few minutes and got back to shore. I was exhausted from that. If you are on shore you need to watch your group in the water. Rippers require diagnosis and finesse. There is no powering through as we see again and again. Nature is beautiful and relentless.

Not a Louisville fan but the new Coach Pat Kelsey has them ranked. Won at

Winthrop and C of C. The prior HC, Kenny Payne, who was a star player for them was an awful coach--clearly out of his element. Wonder what kind of NIL Kelsey has to work with.

James and Rivers schooled our young

Guards. As much as we want better bigs, our guards as they gain experience will get better. James and Rivers are final 4 potential. They did it last year.

Very impressive results for new coach. She assembled a staff, took on a

Bunch of complimentary players, melded a playing strategy, etc. players deserve a ton of respect. They are playing hard, responsive to fixing bad outcomes (like fsu), and developing team identity. Team is playing better than sum of the parts. Credit all around. What can they accomplish rest of way (assuming good health). Is 8-5 achievable based on remaining schedule (couple of tough ones like Lville, Notre Dame, ncst, and cal)? That would be 19-9. What say you?
