Anyone have insight…
Into James Green’s impact during his last stint at SERTC? I believe he was brought in to give Mekhi a high level training partner, what were the returns on that? He also had a pretty major hip surgery the following year I believe.

Found this cool video of Green vs. Henson from Team Time Trials last year.

They credit Green with helping them jump levels in their wrestling. More mature style with tuff handfighting.
Green left to coach team USA and retired from freestyle wrestling due to injuries esp to his hip.
Ben Askren had same issue earlier while coaching and he reccomended surgeon to James.. went well..
Green felt like new, and hit the wrestling circuit again. Been there last 2 years and coaching as well.
Seems like a great guy. Be good to have him back

Everybody who came across JG during his time in Blacksburg loved him. He did a great job at his alma mater and sounds like they also loved him. I don't understand how Robie pulled this off but kudos to him. Turned a negative situation into a major positive.

With so many young hammers at Tech who have both folk and freestyle ambitions, James is an
incredible choice to help coach them. Gorman, Seidel, Bo, Melvin etc
If you get Flo here is a stirring bio.

Not PSU/OSU but at that next level Ridge/Caleb (and Ridge/Bryce, thanks to Bryce for figuring out a way to get out and coaching up Caleb). Lamer/Gaj. Antrell/ ....okay they got us beat there but Shapiro? Will it into existence.
They were our comp in the Bassett stakes though. Don't know why people said anything different, it was VT-Nebraska the whole way.

It's going to be a dogfight to get on the podium if Nebraska and Iowa hit on some of their portal targets. I like our odds, but it won't be easy.
