Cesar Alvin at 165 could be an interesting portal watch
He has 1 year of eligibility remaining and can't stay at Columbia. Took 3rd at NCAAs this year.

3rd place finish aside, his resume doesn't scream surefire high AA, but he'll absolutely raise the bar in our room and be an AA contender. I'm also not convinced Noah or Gaj can get big enough for 165 by next year. His overlap with Tanelli might give us an edge. I'm a little confused on his eligibility looking at wrestlestat though- does he for sure have another year?

But am nervous about every weight 165 and up, minus wherever Burton slots. It's frustrating that Jimmy hasn't made a jump after quitting football and 3 years in the room. He has all the physical tools, but somehow seems to have regressed.

Jimmy has an opening he’s just gotta make a little jump to get into AA contention for next year.

Hendrickson, Cohlton Schultz and Greg Kerkvliet all ended their eligibility. I really hope Jimmy will make that jump over the next six months.
Next year, Isaac Trumble, Younger Bastida and David Szuba will be gone, but guys like AJ Ferrari, Taye Ghadiali, Nick Feldman, Ben Kueter and Dayton Pitzer are all coming back.

He majored Pitzerr once. It’s in Jimmy - need to “release the Kraken” within…

Mullen gained bulked up alot, but didn’t seem to get much stronger and looked like he lost some pop.
I think Mullen’s issue is he hasn’t physically matured to the extent a lot of the other heavies have. He still looks physically young. I think for him once he gets that man strength and muscle density he will make a big jump. Hopefully it happens soon. Reminds me a little of Andy Smith, unfortunately for Andy by the time he became a man he had so many injuries.

(1) There almost certainly isn't going to be a HWT available to us that is better.
(2) Jimmy is the quintessential teammate who is loved by everyone in the program.
A third reason is that Jimmy's ceiling is quite high. I don't know why but he took a step back this year. He isn't nearly as physical as the upper guys. With the right mindset and training, can he get there? He has the skills / athleticism to take a giant leap forward if he can get he can get stronger physically and get his mind to be more physical.

Think he would already be in the portal and would obviously have some smoke to VT with our 165 situation and Tanelli

41 Bo
49 Henson
57 Gaj
65 Alvin
74 Burton
84 Bullock vs transfer
97 Sasso
HWT Mullen
That's a solid lineup with 10 legit AA contenders and 2-4 capable of contending for a title.

I see him at 57 and Gaj taking a RS …no facts just my opinion.
