133 is insane
With Frost out, Byrd/Larkin loses, seeding for the ncaa tournament is gonna be crazy. If Devino wins today, Jax might get the #1 seed ( maybe not though) Hopefully AS stays on the opposite side of the bracket from Jax. I still think AS wins in a rematch with Jax but would rather that be a finals match vs an earlier round.

I know the transitive property doesn’t necessarily apply in wrestling, but
I can see a case for Jax at #1 based on his TF of Ayala and the 2 close matches Blaze has had with him. Assuming Blaze beats Davino, I seed them Jax 1, Blaze 2, Seidel 3, Davino 4, Ayala or Byrd 5 depending on who places 3rd

Lack of RPI will hurt Jax. Big Ten champ should get #1 NCAA seed
Jax is in line for the #2. It gets murkier from here. Aaron winning today might be enough to propel him to #3. I imagine he would get #3 over a two loss Davino and Byrd. Byrd should drop to 4/5 in the coaches and will get hurt in the conference tournament criteria. If Davino wins, then I think he gets #1 seed as his RPI should be enough to stay above Jax. A Davino win might be the best case scenario as I could see a scenario playing out where Forrest and Blaze get the 2/3 seeds. Davino is a beast, but I would rather Seidel be opposite Forrest and Blaze. Seidel-Davino would also be a chaotic semifinal match. ** Edited by VTDante at 3/8/2026, 8:07:05 AM

Regardless, the seeding committee should do their best to separate…
Davino and Blaze and as a result, Jax and Aaron.

I don't know that it will matter that much. Forest looks like the top
competition of the class but it typically is all about matchups. Seidel definitely looked the part in the dual with Forest. He was the better wrestler for all but about 15 crucial seconds. He could more than keep pace with Jax and he could get to his shots and finish. Aaron Seidel is going to be a tough out for any of the 133-lb guys. Could a guy like Blaze or Byrd who thrive on turning defense into offense give him trouble? Maybe. And if Seidel gets taken down in the 1st period by a guy like that, how does he respond? Stringing together numerous wins against elite competition with various styles to win an NCAA title is obviously hard but I'm not betting against Seidel in any match. That dude is fire this season.
