When you look at the ENTIRE team(so far) who they wrestled this weekend vs who we beat at ACC and how they faired; we **** the bed. Very much like how NC State always **** the bed when they won ACC. Winning the the ACC is NOT a curse or jinx. It's an illusion of greatness allowing the winner to feel like they can take their feat off the gas or perhaps they have reached a higher rung of the accomplishment latter creating a tiny chink in the armor. The smallest distraction between conference and nationals is all it takes to go from greatness to head scratching moment. Personally, I think we are one "sports psychologist" away from doing incredible great things on the national level. Recruiting- 💪 Coaching- 💪Haught is not a problem IMO. Culture-💪 Schedule- 💪 Stamina-💪 We no longer lose matches because of conditioning. Nutrition-💪Long ago I sent an email to Coach Roby explaining what I saw(nutritionally) with David Mcfadden leaving pools of water on the mat then watching him take a nose dive off the stamina cliff. His electrolites were so far out of wack. Coach Roby and I went back and forth with a couple emails, and the very next season the "nutritionist" became a thing. A GREAT thing. Sports Psychology-😤Some kids come with it naturally but others need help in this area(obviously)MIND, BODY, and SOUL must be strong 100% of the time. I think only a paid professional should be considered. Do NOT underestimate the power of the mind in the sport of wrestling.
