still doesn't matter. Catka was up 2-0 after riding feldman the full 2 mins

Catka gave up 0 points, got the escape, rode his guy for 2 minutes preventing him from scoring and earning the riding time. And he lost the match because of 1 takedown with 9 seconds left simply because the NCAA has emphasized takedowns over everything else. The NCAA has sent the message that dominating your guy for a full 2 minutes isn't nearly as important as a takedown is. Catka would have been better off simply running around the mat for the last 60 seconds of the third period.
