I asked the question on a Inside VT wrestling pod a few years ago regarding charging maybe $5 for duals but kids and students were free. I felt “guilty” for watching high caliber wrestling for free. Coach Robie graciously answered (paraphrasing) by saying it has been considered but loves it being free to get the best and largest possible atmosphere for his athletes… I threw the idea of voluntary cash or even QR code PayPal type of boxes since many don’t carry cash anymore. If you have the want, you can, if you cannot then don’t… Have a few located about the hallways in Cassell to avoid lines. I’d gladly pop a 5 or 10 every time I enter. With that being said, not sure if that creates difficulty for the employees, worth the energy, how it gets divided etc? Maybe just for SERTC, but that might not be allowed since it is not officially VT, not sure how it works. Great though to hear we are top 10 in attendance, we’ve been there for a while and doing things right imo.
