LSU is the more talented team, they are loaded with 5-star players at
almost every position. Pitching staff is top-notched. They had #2, #3, #4, #5 recruiting rankings every year since 2022. But our ladies played their hearts out and never gave up. Excellent season and we had a chance to host.

And LSU finished 8th in the SEC.

My comment LSU is more talented vs VT. SEC is stronger, tougher conference
vs ACC. LSU strength of schedule/RPI is higher than VT and that's big reason why Ncaa picked LSU to host. SEC has 7 teams ranked in top 10 vs ACC has 1 team. LSU had to play top 10 teams every week. If VT had to play those same top 10 teams every week, we wouldn't have 46-10 record today.

If you saw my ACC vs. SEC post, it shows that the best of the ACC
are .500 teams in the SEC.

Agree. LSU pitched three different pitchers in three games and all were
effective. Monticelli shut us down tòday on 5 hits in a very efficient outing. Numbers 3 - 8 in our order collectively went 1 for 21. Stat line for Monticelli: Batters faced: 26 Runs 2 (1 earned) Ks - 2 BBs - 0 Pitches - 96 (62 for strikes, 64%) Fly ball outs-15 Ground ball outs-4 On the flip side, LSU had 12 hits, 6 ER, and 40 batters went to the plate. VT pitchers only gave up 3 BBs, with 2 Ks, but 146 total pitches. Of those 146 pitches 81 went for strikes. Proud of this team though. Just waan't their weekend. Looking forward to the future though. Go Hokies.

I would disagree. The score might not show "fight"
but they didn't lay down. Annika Rohs repeated laid her body on the line defensively. Every batter was trying hard to get on base. The effort in the outfield and Castine trying to get to foul balls or the one that dropped. The pitchers fought. They didn't just give up. LSU was cleaner and had a good plan. ** Edited by VAHokie89 at 5/17/2026, 5:45:27 PM ** Edited by VAHokie89 at 5/17/2026, 5:48:26 PM

LSU had our number. I know we tried hard but didn't throw strikes and
didn't hit
