You’re sorta saying the same thing. SoS is FAR over valued in

Team evaluations Just because you play a tough schedule and LOSE more than 1/2 of the time doesn’t mean you’re better or equal to a team that wins 44/53 games including a ton of run rule games SoS should matter to a point but it’s already factored into many metrics. So saying some team with a better SoS that’s ranked a couple spots behind another team with a much better record and lower SoS is overvaluing SoS if they take into account the ranking that’s inclusive of SOS AND then double down and say….well #21 should be ahead of #19 because they have a higher SOS. THAT is the biggest issue I have with bracketology and seeding You cannot control your schedule totally; about 1/2 of it is totally in your conference’s hands. You also cannot control the trajectory of teams’ seasons when you played those teams the first 4 weeks of a season that has 13 weeks

Per D1 Softball Nitty Gritty RPI Report, VT will drop to 21 ....

The actual NCAA RPI report still has VT at #20, Ole Miss at #21
VTChip 05/07/26 08:59 AM ET
I think the top 16 in the RPI would be the hosts ....
hokietony 05/07/26 09:26 AM ET
Ole Miss being ahead of VT is ridiculous. They have lost 23 games and have

There really aren’t any mediocre teams in the SEC in a national context.
nkhooch 05/07/26 08:33 AM ET
If we were .500 in the SEC we’d be top 12
hokiepro 05/07/26 09:23 AM ET
No offense taken. I don’t love the SEC. Why do you think that? I root
nkhooch 05/07/26 10:13 AM ET
Ok fair but I’m just saying SEC has plenty of apologists

I am not an apologist for the SEC. I am just looking at the stats and

hokietony 05/07/26 09:27 AM ET
I disagree with that, the national narrative is that the SEC is dominant

Did you see Hokietony’s earlier comment? Kentucky was 1-23 in

When it comes to OOC schedules how hard do the SEC teams schedule?

Interesting. You state something. I refute it with supporting info and now

Whether you believe the SEC is the best or not the original argument for me

Yep, in Massey, SEC 9 of top 13, VT is 16 for reference.**

Why look at Ole Miss as a parameter ....

Right, what you can control is losses to MSU, Charlotte and Liberty. And
