I believe we lose a tie with Stanford

*We didn't play head-to-head so that doesn't apply *We had the exact same records against common opponents (Duke, UNC, and NC State) - that doesn't apply *We are also tied under the Winning percentage versus common opponents based on their order of finish (highest seed down). IF they use "Combined win percentage of conference opponents (strength of schedule)," the Stanford opponents are 88-86 while the VT opponents are 73-84 IF they use RPI, thru Saturday's games, Stanford is #18 (strength if schedule #16 VT is #23 (SOS is #71). Obviously, I hope I wrong. I think we need to become huge NC State fans next weekend and hope they can give Louisville another loss.

As much as I hate looking ahead it appears we just miss the ACC Tourney bye

So if we sweep Syracuse we have the same conference record as Stanford

I believe we lose a tie with Stanford

No, we're only one game behind Louisville.

My understanding is common opponents as 1st tiebreaker, even 3-way
HolidayInnHokie 04/26/26 06:33 PM ET
I think you're very close on the three-way tie, but...

The GT games are definitely biting us…win one of those
hokiepro 04/26/26 10:21 PM ET
Think they break a multi-way tie by dropping the team(s) that "loses".
nvpbrown 04/26/26 07:21 PM ET
It can be broken if they use strength of schedule of conf opponents
VTChip 04/26/26 07:32 PM ET
I couldn't find anything documenting current tie breaking criteria.

Coin flip?!? YGBSM... ACC needs to do better than that.**
VX-23 Hokie 04/26/26 06:42 PM ET
Use our coin, we lose, they walk off with coin**

I think Stanford's sweep of FSU might factor in somehow.**
hokietony 04/26/26 05:36 PM ET
I don't think it does since neither VT nor Lousiville played FSU.
nvpbrown 04/26/26 05:47 PM ET
VT is 1 game behind Louisville but I don't know the tiebreaker.**
