I kid of course... but VT hasn't historically excelled in the postseason. Softball and baseball are slim-margin sports, meaning a few walks, a few timely hits, a few unfortunate line-outs, or double plays can be the difference between a close game and a game that gets out of hand. Pitching usually wins games. While our pitching is very good, it's not quite as elite as previous years with Rochard and Lemley. Our batting, which is as solid as ever, is still always at risk of facing a pitcher who hits their spots and keeps the batters guessing. Lastly - I think any surprise of a run rule is a reflection of how well we did during the regular season. This was bound to happen at some point - and we ran into a hot LSU team. We're good enough to win this series. Let's see what happens.
