you're touching on something I bought up a week or so ago...

Plenty of pitchers give up HRs... part of life in the circle. But all 5 of these are by Mazz when she seemed to be having control struggles early and missed over the middle of the plate against a big hitter after giving up a couple walks / hits early. Even though we all ADORE her and love see her out there; however, it behooves Pete to get a little introspective here and analyze the pattern / what's going on. A number of announcers have commented that Mazz seems to be at her best when she takes a little of the velocity off and is pinpointing a little better. She's only given up 11 HRs on the season, but those 5 seem more critical; the question is was she doing somethign different or impacted in the situation by something Pete can minimize. Freddie Prince Jr with his brother in Summer Catch "what's my game... hit your spots don't try to throw fastballs by everyone who steps in the box... I want to be intimidating... wouldn't you rather be rich?"
