I don't think you'll see double-elimination in the ACC tourney again

Many years ago, the conference was double elimination, but most coaches disliked it and voted to change it to single elimination. They did not want to have to stress their pitching staff with the additional games required for double elimination the week before the NCAA tournament begins. Many of the conferences that use the double elimination format are one-bid leagues and many feel that double elimination increases the possibility of one of the stronger teams advancing. ** Edited by VTChip at 5/11/2024, 11:11:34 AM
