is paying the most money in College Football. They are constantly highlighting and paying the most to the SEC. Do we really need a 🔮 so see where this is going?

I don't think a P1 is marketable and I don't think it is sustainable at the levels of funding the SEC schools are currently getting. Sankey talked about college football having transformed from a regional sport into a national sport, but by breaking away into its own league, the SEC would be transforming itself back into a regional sport. I don't think the average college football fan of a non-SEC school wants to watch that, let alone pay to watch it. I think Sankey probably realizes that, but the question is: will rational thinking prevail, or will bravado prevail?

I agree the SEC schools can’t go it alone, and I have never ever said that. However, if there is a P1, you will have other schools like Michigan and USCw that refused to sign the new offered B1G GOR, even for a mega money contract worth Billions. On the other side of this, if there is a P1, not all SEC schools will be in it IMHO. Some SEC, some B1G, some ACC and maybe even a couple from the B12. Think about who will generate the most money through viewers and subscribers.

means you give me what I want or I will take it by alternative measures and you should be happy with the scraps I grant you. What neither the SEC or the B1G grasp is that on their own they are likely worth less than what they command as the biggest dogs in the NCAA show. Moreover, their product, while good, still represents nothing more than a minor league version of the NFL. You have to give Sankey credit, he is the epitome of the Peter Principle with his rise from his days as a Director of Intramurals but, he is clearly beyond his skills ceiling now carried along by the SEC.

to be expanded. That stresses profitability. Also, those out-of-conference games boost the W-L record of The SEC overall, but for the weak teams in particular. Teams that are perennially winless will lose support. A stand-alone conference earns a .500 record, always, looking only "average."
That is why I believe P4 and maybe all BCS conferences will form two competing sides compelled by media contracts seeking to form the best overall viewership. International reach will influence the decisions. Realignment will need to be settled ahead of the next round of contracts.

for southern based institutions. Hell of a gameplan, virtually no downside.

pooch throwing everything into ESPN/ABC. NIL has leveled the playing field. They don’t wield nearly the power he thinks.

I am tired of them threatening to do it.
Either do it and get it over with or stop talking about it.
