Sankey’s response to Yormark
From Saturday Down South: However, Sankey’s comments differed greatly on Monday, even taking time to confront Yormark’s specific phrase head on: “As I understand doubling down — that was one of the phrases last week. That’s part of the gambling experience,” said Sankey. Sankey continued that gambling metaphor, but only to express the power he believes resides within the SEC: “You always want to have a really good set of cards. You want to have a good hand to play, right? I think we have the best hand to play,” Sankey concluded. ————- Basically he is saying the B12 (and the ACC) do not have good hands, which is true to be honest. Not exactly sure what the SEC wants but Sankey did say that he spoke with Tony Petitti four times last week and with Jim (Phillips) three times.

Sankey’s challenge is staying humble enough to realize the National TV fans
can crush the SEC and B1G if they don’t feel included. The fall down the mountain is lot faster than the climbing of the mountain. Just ask SEC/B1G like NASCAR. Arrogance has taken many Fortune 500 companies out of the Fortune 500. If the customers smell too much greed, they will just buy something else, and it can happen very quickly!!! ** Edited by Stech at 7/17/2025, 2:25:25 AM

I hope the Big 10 keeps winning championships
Do not like the SEC and I have a kid that goes to UF. I like UF just don’t like their conference.

I actually dislike the Big Ten even more.
They poached UMCP from the ACC and backstabbed the Pac-12. They started the idea of a true national conference, which is killing regional rivalries. The SEC, at least, still maintains a semblance of a (super) regional conference.

What does Yormark do that continues to get under Sankey's skin?
Plus, what are Sankey and Petitti talking about for 4 days a week - what movies they watched?

I don’t know what Sankey and Petitti are colluding on.
But if you think about it, The SEC coaches want a model that allows seven or eight SEC teams to participate in at least some years. The 4-4-2-2-1 model won’t work for them. The Big Ten wants a guaranteed four spots for their play-in games. The 5-11 model won’t work for them. The only model that can satisfy both is 4-4-1-1-1-5. Pray that’s not the outcome.

I can't imagine that being a trustworthy dialogue.
It will be an interesting day when the SEC offers membership to Michigan, PSU and Ohio State (and Notre Dame).

I'm so sick and tired of hearing Greg Sankey whine and complain.
It's way, way past time that everyone else stopped playing nice with the SEC and Big 10. They are the ENEMY. In terms of business viability, they are actively trying to choke the life out of and kill all the other conferences, and each other. I will never understand why these idiots running the other leagues treat them like buddies and business partners.
