So the SEC won't be interested in FSU because FSU has been too disruptive
To the ACC as they've tried to get out of the conference. And the SEC would never take a school school that is disruptive to their conference. Close your eyes and cover your ears as someone whispers Texas.
And of course we can trust any rumors or comments coming out of the Big 10 that suggesting they are not interested in expansion. Just like we trusted a couple of years ago when they formed an alliance with the ACC and pac-12, promising not to go after each other's schools.
I don't know why anybody takes any comments coming from these conferences seriously. Until they actually have the option of accepting fsu and Clemson, you can't believe anything that's being said.

"Too disruptive" and "no AAU" as disqualifiers seems like BS to me.
ND just got AAU somehow this year. But are you telling me the B1G wouldn't have taken them before that?
Anyway, the B1G seems to be diminishing FSU right now. Probably either because they want to get them at a discount. Or, they are afraid of getting sued.

Flugaur said about 15 minutes ago that the B1G could take FSU and Clemson down the road, but perhaps at Oregon and Washington money. LOL. The low-balling and short-selling is the status quo now.

in America than the University of Texas? I seriously doubt it. Greg Sankey couldn’t move fast enough to get Texas and their tagalong OU into the SEC. In doing so, Sankey stabbed Texas A&M in the back. He stabbed his friend Bob Bowlsby in the back. An alliance as you stated was formed between other conferences to try and counter his actions, and he was accused by many of destroying college sports.
TV money is now the life blood of athletic conferences. Viewership is what TV executives desire the most. Conferences that can provide bigger viewership are rewarded with bigger media rights contracts. FSU can provide additional viewership to the SEC and B1G so networks, commissioners, and college presidents will want them in their conference even if they are a disruptive conference partner which by the way is great for viewership.

Texas has one of the largest athletic department budgets and one of the biggest and most moneyed followings in college sports - to the point it rivals pro teams. It's also in Austin, one of the hottest and fastest-growing cities in the country.
FSU, on the other hand, while being the biggest school in the ACC, is downsizing its football stadium to seat just under 70,000 because it can't fill it. Tallahassee is in rural Florida and is de facto southern Georgia/Alabama.
For any conference, taking Texas is a no-brainer despite its narcissism and demands. FSU doesn't offer that order of magnitude of upside.

VT no. 73 ranked program on the viewership listing shared by WBGV for the ave weekly viewers.
VT - Worst rating of any ACC Program (yes even worse than UVA, Wake and BC)
UVA no. 58 has 50% more viewership than VT: How does this happen?
If football viewership is driving the boat (which it is), then this particular data collection does not bode well for VT? (Understood this is a single year and a single source, just looking at this report a little closer for a sniff test).
P.S. I'm a VT alumni and would love to see us stay in the current ACC (won't happen as it is imploding rather than exploring), but if we need to move then would prefer the SEC simply because I feel more connection to the SEC (geography, style of play, etc)

Some of our best games were put on ACCN and didnt figure into the viewership calculations. In your heart of hearts do you really believe VT is the lowest rated ACC program in viewership?

and points to not necessarily taking the report at face value. That said, we still should have had more TV viewership than UVA even if all of our games were EXCLUSIVELY on radio.🙂

The SEC stopped wanting them the second the B1G stopped wanting them.
To me, the focus should be on the B1G here, not the SEC.
The B1G chatter about FSU did an about face a month ago. Why?

With 0 for 1,000 track records over a real journalist with real inside sources?
For ten plus years, everyone said the only schools that moved the needle and grew the pie enough to make expansion financially feasible were Texas and Notre Dame. I guess throw in USC/UCLA.
They are off the market. Well is dry even before you get into the legal and contractual entanglement.
Unless you think they will take a half share ...
