In doing so, Sankey stabbed Texas A&M in the back. He stabbed his friend Bob Bowlsby in the back. An alliance as you stated was formed between other conferences to try and counter his actions, and he was accused by many of destroying college sports. TV money is now the life blood of athletic conferences. Viewership is what TV executives desire the most. Conferences that can provide bigger viewership are rewarded with bigger media rights contracts. FSU can provide additional viewership to the SEC and B1G so networks, commissioners, and college presidents will want them in their conference even if they are a disruptive conference partner which by the way is great for viewership.
