ACC “seriously considered adding 5-7 PAC12 schools” last night
I would assume it was (5) Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Arizona State, Utah…and then (7) Cal and Stanford.
Really wanted that to happen but oh well…
VT BABY!!!

So yeah, it was a last second discussion.
I wish those schools (Oregon, Wash, AZ, AZ St, Utah) well, but they were the ones that panicked and destroyed the PAC. There were other options and the ACC was apparently open to discussion.
RIP PAC

Maybe the ACC’s been looking at those PAC 12 schools fo4 a while and it all made some kind of sense, maybe not. I dunno.

I think it's a good thing the ACC didn't add those Pac-12 schools...
since it would've cost each ACC school $1-3 million a year. That expansion would've further widened the revenue gap between the ACC and Power 2. Plus you would also have to add extra travel costs for non-revenue programs to travel to the West Coast.
As for the Big 12 expansion, adding all those Pac-12 schools likley didn't add any significant value to their conference. Now the Big 12 or 16 has even more mouths to feed. They already had the state of Utah with BYU and now they have 2 schools from Arizona. The Big 12 (16) is composed of all mid to upper mid tier P-5 schools but they have no members who are national brands except for Kansas men's basketball. At least the ACC still has Clemson and FSU and even Miami and UNC and Duke in Hoops.
I do agree with all who said the ACC was once again late to the party. Maybe it was a good thing this time around.

As I keep saying, the ACC is always a day late and dollar short.
The B12 commissioner has absolutely run circles around the ACC.
